| Ultrasone S-Logic Natural Surround Sound |
||||
Ultrasone’s patented S-Logic natural surround sound system is a revolutionary advance in how we listen to headphones. S-logic creates a natural three-dimensional sound field that gives the listener more depth to their music. S-Logic gives the listener a more lifelike listening experience and protects their hearing all at the same time. How does S-Logic work?
This is because our outer ear or pinnea, allows us to perceive distance and direction when we hear sounds in the real world. As sounds come into the ear, they bounce off the folds and peaks of our outer ear creating cues that help our brains figure out where the sound came from and how far away it is. This is very useful information for outrunning hungry cave bears and also when listening to you favorite music through speakers or headphones.

| Reduced Magnetic Field Emissions | ||||
All Ultrasone headphones have the added benefit of having lower magnetic field emissions than any other headphones. The LE standard offers up to 50% less radiation than other headphones while the ULE or Proline standard gives you up to a 98% reduction in emissions. Ultrasone headphones are certified by the Technical Surveillance Organization and Consumer Advice Centers to have certified low magnetic field emissions. From Ultrasone: In order to protect the health of people within an electrically surrounded environment, clear limits about the maximum radiation emissions have been occasionally defined. For example in the TCO '99 for the allowed magnetic emission of computer screens, in a distance of 30 cm a maximum of 200 nT (nanoteslas) is the upper recommended limit. Recommendations for the low-frequency emissions in the case of headsets and headphones are still pending or are not really in the focus of importance. This is still surprising because we, as users, are carrying this very emissive equipment directly on our heads. In a research sample of 60 current headphones (199-2000), Ultrasone found out that the average magnetic field emissions of headphones is more the 1000 nT with a peak maximum of 2100 nT. On average this is more than four times the maximum recommended for computer screens in TCO '99 and in extreme cases, more than ten times the maximum. The developed and patented PROline technology for Ultrasone brings magnetic field emissions of headsets and headphones down to less than 90 nT. Florian Koenig developed procedures for carrying out comparable measurement of different headphone and headset models, some of which turned out to have very high radiation values. Based on these results, he developed and shielding method to reduce the radiation emitted by Ultrasone AG products. After further strict measurements by the TUV South Germany (MOT), which attested lowest magnetic field emissions through the Ultrasone patented method to reduce radiation, the IGEF (International Institution for Electro Mag Research) examined the products of Ultrasone closely. They assessed all PROline products as "of low emission" and granted their certification. |

| Safer Hearing | ||||
| Your ears are very sensitive, so you should take extra care of them especially when listening to headphones. Continued exposure to loud sounds or music can lead to permanent hearing damage. At SPL levels of 85 dB and above, hearing damage can occur if steps are not taken to protect your ears. At a level of 110 dB, the normal volume level of a typical live music venue, hearing damage can occur in as little as 30 minutes. This damage is revealed by a ringing in the ears known as tinnitus. Tinnitus usually goes away after a period of time, but with constant exposure can become permanent. Constant exposure to high volume levels can also lead to high-frequency hearing loss over time.
An added benefit of S-Logic technology is an up to 40% (3-4dB) drop in SPL (sound pressure levels) for the same perceived volume. This means the Ultrasone’s put less pressure on your eardrum than any other headphones. Because of this, the risk of hearing damaged is greatly reduced and you can listen for longer without fatigue. Check out the H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers) website for more information on why you should take care of your ears. |
